Kaitiakitanga in the classroom.

At Mangonui School we teach students about Kaitiakitanga and leadership within our school.
This links with the ideas of being Kaitiaki to ourselves, others and papatuanuku.

Kaitiakitanga is about being a guardian and a leader and learning about the responsibilities we have to ourselves, others and papatuanuku.

After discussing as a class what we think it means to be Kaitiaki this is what we created:

This is referred every morning at the start of our day and added to as we learn more.
